Working dog returns to duty after 20-foot fall

BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Staff Sgt. Marque Daniels, 460th Security Forces Squadron military working dog handler, and his dog, Pier, tug on a training toy Sept. 19, 2012, at the 460th SFS kennels. Daniels and Pier returned to duty after more than a month of necessary rehabilitation. Pier suffered a sprained neck after leaping over a 4-foot high wall and dropped approximately 20 feet during a search. The pair was searching the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus following the July 20 shooting at an Aurora, Colo., movie theater that killed 12 and injured more than 60 people.
