Working dog returns to duty after 20-foot fall
BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Pier, a 460th Security Forces Squadron military working dog, snatches a training toy from his handler, Staff Sgt. Marque Daniels, 460th SFS military working dog handler, while they play fetch Sept. 19, 2012, at the base kennels. Pier, with the assistance of Daniels, spent a month and a half in rehabilitation following a fall off a balcony. Daniels and Pier were searching the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus when Pier leaped over a 4-foot high wall and dropped approximately 20 feet. Pier suffered a sprained neck but has since recovered and returned to work. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Kali L. Gradishar)
