Working dog returns to duty after 20-foot fall
BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Staff Sgt. Marque Daniels, 460th Security Forces Squadron military working dog handler, sits with his dog, Pier, Sept. 19, 2012, at the 460th SFS kennels. Pier is back to work after recovering from a 20-foot fall off a balcony while searching the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus following the July 20 shooting at an Aurora, Colo., movie theater that killed 12 and injured more than 60 people. Daniels and Pier spent time resting on the couch while Pier recovered from a sprained neck. The two also spent countless hours in rehabilitation and water therapy to get Pier back to work.
