Fuel additive spills at Buckley
BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Buckley firefighters prepare to manually pump a fuel detergent additive known as R-100 out of a containment pool into 55-gallon drums to be disposed of by qualified personnel. About 100 gallons of the additive spilled at about 7:15 a.m. April 22 at a fuel farm here. Only about 10 gallons of the additive leaked into the soil in the surrounding area.
