The Legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen

Capt. Alva Temple, 1st Lt. James Harvey, 1st Lt. Harry Stewart and 1st Lt. Halbert Alexander, the winners of the Air Force's first "Top Gun" competition, pose with the trophy during May of 1949. The trophy went missing for 55 years, but was found at the storage area of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
