Leadership from the 460th Space Wing, 460th Security Forces Squadron, 460th Mission Support Group and 460th Force Support Squadron provided presentations to George “Skip” Noe, Aurora city manager; Nicholas Metz, Aurora chief of police; and Caine Hills, Aurora fire chief, on April 19 at Buckley Air Force Base, Colo.

During the visit, each squadron discussed their current and future operations to ensure their relationship with the community remains up to date. They were also provided a walk-through of future construction plans of the 6th Avenue Gate. Finally, they wrapped up the visit with a trip to the Base Defense Operation Center where the 460th SFS presented their base defense capabilities.

Maintaining a strong relationship with the local community is important to the success of Buckley AFB. As military members, it’s important for Buckley AFB to remain good stewards of the community and taxpayers. By regularly meeting with the community, Team Buckley is able to ensure that the trust and expectations of those taxpayers are being met.
