Buckley Air Force Base leadership and Aurora School District administrators met to discuss and strengthen the relationship between the base and local schools June 2, on Buckley AFB, Colo.

Buckley AFB ensures support of the local school district in which over 600 military children attend.

The meeting highlighted the importance of the school district’s outreach to military families, support for children with deployed parents and basic needs for families such as time off from school.

“I hope this is the first of a series of discussions,” said Col. David Miller, Jr., 460th Space Wing commander. “We have opportunities that we should take advantage of to better support each other.”

With Airmen and families being one of the 460th SW’s strategic intents, it is a priority to uphold a strong relationship with local schools to provide a better education for Buckley Youth.
