BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. --
Due to the recent declaration of a public health emergency for Buckley AFB, the continuation of our mission will remain a priority. We are keenly aware these are trying times as our situation continues to evolve due to concerns over coronavirus-19 disease (COVID-19). We have continued to keep you up to date on recent changes to base services and potential cases of COVID-19 on the installation. Going forward, we will make every effort to continue to provide key base support and services to our installation populace, as well as ensuring our local authorized community members continue to have access to the installation.
As such, we’re working to continue to keep key agencies like the Base Exchange and Commissary open so you may continue to purchase the key essentials and supplies you may need. Our Base Exchange remains open and is continuing to receive weekly deliveries on both Mondays and Thursdays, and continues to restock inventory in a timely manner.
Please note, the commissary has implemented a 100 percent identification check. Only personnel with DeCA privileges will be allowed to shop at the Commissary. Our commissary staff requests your support. Specifically, they are in need of volunteers to assist with restocking their shelves. Anyone who has current access to our installation and desires to volunteer can show up at the commissary at 6:30 p.m. to apply as a volunteer.
Current Base Exchange / Commissary / Pharmacy Hours
Base Exchange: 9 AM – 6 PM (Monday – Saturday) & 10 AM – 5 PM (Sunday)
Commissary: 9 AM – 7 PM (Tuesday – Sunday)
Pharmacy: 9 AM – 4 PM (Monday – Friday)
Note: We have reserved priority for installation mission essential personnel to shop at BX/Commissary/Pharmacy from 9 AM – 11 AM. In light of current events, we request your support and all non-mission essential personnel shop outside of these reserved times.
Additionally, in order to keep our base populace and local community informed, we are scheduling Facebook Live events twice a week: Mondays and Fridays, 6 p.m. local time. This is where our 460th Space Wing leadership team will keep you up to date on the COVID-9 situation on the installation, any new base initiatives, closures, operating hours, and take any questions you might have. We ask all interested parties to please message the Buckley Air Force Base Facebook page or comment on the event so we may proactively start working answers before we go live.
We cannot stress enough, how we successfully get through this global pandemic will depend heavily on how we treat each other. Please be courteous to one another and remember that we are all going through this situation together. Our ability to ensure our installation remains open is reliant upon everyone’s ability to interact and co-exist in a calm and orderly manner. Please be respectful, considerate, and above all: be excellent to one another!
