At approximately 8 p.m. on April 22, out of an abundance of caution, Buckley Air Force Base leadership closed the A-Basin Child Development Center until further notice as a result of a potential coronavirus (COVID-19) case for one of the employees.

Everyone this employee has been in contact with has been notified.

The Crested Butte Child Development Center is expected to open on April 27 to accommodate and care for the children who were attending the A-Basin Child Development Center.

The A-Basin Child Development Center will be sanitized for the safety of its children and workers. Buckley AFB is taking all necessary precautions to avoid the spread of COVID-19 on the installation. The base remains in Health Protection Condition (HPCON) Charlie Plus to reflect the substantial disease threat posed by COVID-19 and limit the risk of exposure to personnel.

As a reminder, Team Buckley members who are feeling ill during duty hours are encouraged to contact the Buckley AFB clinic at 720-847-9355 for specific guidance on how to proceed. If members are feeling ill after duty hours, they can contact the nurse advice line at 800-874-2273 for further direction. Tricare beneficiaries can also visit https://www.tricare.mil/coronavirus for more information.

Team Buckley is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Tri-County Public Health Department, and local community leadership on the COVID-19 situation.
