Armed Forces Day Concert

The 101st Army Band (Colorado National Guard) is pleased to announce our upcoming Armed Forces Day Concert on Sunday May 20th at 2 pm. This year the City of Aurora History Museum and Aurora Public Library are sponsoring the event at Aurora Central High School Auditorium. As a special treat, there will be a pre-show presentation at 1 p.m. by Major General (retired) Mason C.Whitney.

Major General Whitney will speak about his experiences as a pilot during the Vietnam War. The Mayor of Aurora, Steve Hogan, will introduce the band. It is a free concert, but it is ticketed. Pick up your free tickets at one of the following locations: Aurora History Museum; any Aurora Public Library location; Buckley Air Force Base Outdoor Recreation Center and the Barnes and Noble at the Aurora City Center.

Directions to Aurora Central High School from I-225

1. Take the Colfax Avenue exit going West towards Fitzsimons Pkwy. Go 1
mile.

2. Turn left onto N. Peoria St. Go 0.5 miles

3. Turn right onto E. 11th Ave. Go 0.2 miles

4. Central High School is on your left.



Parking information:

Guests can parallel park near the auditorium entrance on the west side (on
Newark St.) or in the small North lot in front of the Main Entrance to the
high school. Band members should park in the East parking lot, as well as
overflow guest parking. Parking in the church parking lot on the west side
of the school is forbidden.
