460th Space Wing leadership recently broke ground on a new $8.5 million
security forces facility that will provide more space and a better
operational environment for Buckley's security forces personnel.

The Consolidated Security Forces Facility will be a two-story 35,175 square
foot masonry building which will house all the base security operations including
law enforcement, armory, base information and security functions.
Additionally, it will provided indoor heated parking for supply and mobility
equipment storage.

"The long awaited construction of our new facility is the culmination of a
long journey that will mark a new beginning for the proud men and women of
the 460th Security Forces Squadron. It comes as the result of the hard work
and dedication of many. The Airmen who pass through the doors of this
facility will be at the center of gravity in defending our nation, no matter
the mission or cost," said Maj. Kenneth Shirley, 460th Security Forces Squadron
commander. "This building will also be a testament of Buckley's commitment
to excellence."

The building will be home to the 460th Security Forces Squadron, who provide
police and security functions for Buckley. The building is projected to
house command, administration, investigation, flight chief, training and
operations functions. In addition to office facilities, the new building is
also projected to include an armory, guard mount, support services and
classroom functions.

"I think it's wonderful that our defenders will have a facility that they
can take pride in," said Capt. Michael D. Keys, 460th Security Forces
Squadron operations officer. "This building is accurately sized and equipped
to handle all the different types of functions we perform 24-7-365."
