During a recent enlisted call, 460th Space Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Robert Ellis rolled out a new program designed to develop Buckley's Airmen.

The Buckley Education Leadership Development Training (BELDT) program is an effort to grow every Airman based on the whole person concept.

At the call, Chief Ellis said he wanted to eradicate our Air force from one dimensional Airmen. Specifically the Airmen who read the enlisted force structure, and decided they only want to do part of it. However, Chief Ellis also stressed, leadership was not going to just tell Airmen what to do, but show them how to accomplish it.

Some of the BELDT objectives for Team Buckley are to increase Community College of the Air Force degrees by 10 percent.

"Every field has certain technical certifications you must obtain," said Chief Ellis. "The CCAF is ours."

Additionally, the Chief wants to train supervisors on mentorship 101, boost professional military education participation, and challenged Airmen to meet certain goals, depending on their rank.

E1s through E6s with less than 24 months in the Air Force are tasked with completing their CCAF, taking the four locally developed core professional development courses, and two additional professional development courses.

E6s with more than 24 months in service through E8s are charged with completing their CCAF, Senior NCO PME and joint Senior NCO PME as well as completing the four core professional development courses.

The four core PDCs are mentorship 101, performance feedback, enlisted evaluation system, road to the top. Each of these PDCs cover a topic the command chief sees as key to being a successful leader and Airman and will be available during lunch time, or upon request, at Buckley.

As the BELDT program continues, Airmen will see more information on education opportunities in their in boxes, on the Buckley official homepage, on the 460th Space Wing Facebook page and well as the command chief's twitter account at www.twitter.com/460SWCCM.
