The Mississippi gate project at Buckley is scheduled to be completed Dec. 2, 2010

The project includes a new guard house, three incoming lanes for traffic, a canopy and two guard booths to provide guard security and environmental protection for the base.

The Mississippi Gate entry control point was improved to provide support for additional personnel being transferred to Buckley by the relocation of the Air Reserve Personnel Center.

"The new facility will provide additional physical and environmental protection measures for the guards," said Chad R. Callan, 460th Civil Engineer Squadron Programs flight chief.

The over-sized canopy also provides two additional guard booths and possesses the ability to process six vehicles at a time.

"The new canopy and the closed circuit camera system helps provide additional situational awareness of area activities," said Mr. Callan.
