BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The Colorado State House of Representatives joined together with members of the Colorado State Senate to honor "our state's veterans, past and present" along with all currently-serving military members and their families, as well as to honor and remember prisoners of war and those missing in action.
"In times of conflict around the globe, it is particularly appropriate to recognize the Coloradans in all branches and components of the Armed Services who serve around the world to protect the security and peace of our nation and other nations," read House Joint Resolution 10-1004.
Additionally, the resolution encouraged Coloradans to celebrate January 25 as Colorado's Military, Veterans and MIA/POW Appreciation Day, "In recognition of the thousands of fellow citizens in the military who protect and serve their communities, state and country."
