Soccer teams from each 460th Space Wing squadron, as well as tenant units across Buckley Air Force Base, competed June 18 in a base-wide tournament.

"I play soccer because it's fun and it gives me a good way to stay active," said Airman 1st Class Nolan Luna-Chavez, a middle fielder for the 460th Space Communications Squadron team. He added he still gets nervous before every game he plays, but after he's out there playing it just feels like second nature.

While the tournament today is quite competitive, Airman Luna-Chavez is preparing for something bigger: an intermural season against other bases here in the Front Range. Still, the opportunity to play is as important as winning.

No matter what the season's outcome, Airman Luna-Chavez said sportsmanship and the respect he holds for his fellow athletes are the most important part.

Results of the tournament will be posted as soon as they are announced.
