Col. Tetla takes command of 460th MDG

Col. Robert Tetla accepted the 460th Medical Group's flag, and with it, command, from Col. Michael Chyrek during a ceremony June 3 at the 460th Space Wing headquarters building.

Colonel Chyrek will head to Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., where he will serve as deputy commander for the 96th Medical Group's teaching hospital.

Colonel Tetla comes to Buckley from Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., where he served as deputy commander of the 72nd Aerospace Medicine Squadron and Bioenvironmental Engineering Flight commander. During that assignment, he was responsible for Occupational Safety and Health for more than 23,000 personnel at 150 work sites supporting the Air Force's largest Air Logistics Center, Air Combat Command's largest flying wing, a Navy wing and 45 associated units from six major commands.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering and Toxicology from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, N.J., and is an Air War College graduate.
