The Birds of Prey officers and noncommissioned officers went head-to-head on the gridiron Nov. 24 for a 743rd Military Intelligence Battalion Turkey Bowl that ended with a 13-6 victory for the NCOs.

Lt. Col. Glenn Dickenson assumed the responsibility of safety officer, encouraging competitiveness and injury-free play. The intense rivalry was felt from the start; once the teams hit the field, the battle for glory began.

The game started slowly but with every possession each team covered more ground, providing the makings of an interesting game. Staff Sgt. Marcel Soileau scored the first touchdown on a run down the sideline, giving the NCOs the lead, but it was quickly countered by a touchdown from the officers' team.

Sgt. Jesus Quintana intercepted a pass by Capt. Jeremy Pitaniello in the closing minutes of the game, sealing this year's Turkey Bowl. 1st Sgt. Daniel Munchbach then stole the winning touchdown pass out of the hands of Maj. Doug Mohler with a one-handed catch from, scoring the win for the NCOs.

At the end of the game, Command Sgt. Maj. Tom Latter raised the coveted toilet bowl trophy proudly and let the noncommissioned officers know how happy he was to keep the trophy on the enlisted side.
