Team Buckley hosts Men's Basketball Tournament

Buckley Air Force Base hosted the base's first Men's Holiday Basketball Tournament Dec. 11-13. The tournament was double elimination with teams from Buckley, Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, the Colorado Kings, Tinker Air Force Base and the Air Force Academy's 10th Air Base Wing all vying for the championship trophy.

The tournament opened with a good battle between the Buckley Panthers and the 10th ABW team. The game was close early, but Buckley took control and turned it into a double digit victory. The Buckley Panthers continued used this win to propel themselves to a third place finish. The Colorado Kings, a local team of prior college players, came out of the loser's bracket to face Tinker in the championship round. The Kings won the first game 101 to 75 and snared the trophy by winning the second game 74 to 95.

The Buckley Panthers placed third in the tournament.
