She enjoys reading, hiking and running. Why was Sergeant Kilbourn nominated for Warrior of the Week? "Sergeant Amanda Kilbourn was nominated for Warrior of the week because of her outstanding performance over the past quarter and especially during the week of November 16-20. Sergeant Kilbourn is a very caring leader and loves working with and helping Soldiers in the 743d Military Intelligence Battalion. While both her officer in charge and NCO in charge were out of the shop, Sergeant Kilbourn did not miss a bit. This displays leadership well beyond that of her peers. Sergeant Amanda Kilbourn is a future Command Sergeant Major," said 1st Lt. Natasha Bond, 743rd MI BN adjutant. What do you enjoy most about your job? What I enjoy the most is overcoming obstacles to help Soldiers and the Battalion. I also enjoy mentoring Soldiers. What accomplishment are you most proud of? Any time I can help a Soldier work through a problem. Why is serving your country important to you? It is important because I am willing to stand up and fight for what I and others believe in. Not everyone is willing to do so and that makes what I do all the more important. What are your personal and career goals? I would like to earn my bachelor's degree. I would like to deploy and PCS overseas. A big goal of mine is to travel. Is there any advice you'd like to give fellow servicemembers? Stand tall, be proud and know that what you do is awesome!
