With the on-going real-world deployment schedule, children have many questions about what happens when their parents are involved with a deployment or exercise. In an effort to explain this, Buckley Air Force Base is hosting a Youth Mock Deployment. This program will provide an opportunity for Buckley youths to experience the challenges unique to military families. Helping them understand what their parents encounter will allow service members to deploy with more confidence that their children will be able to handle the event.

Fun filled activities include:

· Real-world out processing. Youths will receive a backpack, water bottle, dog tags, t-shirt, and much more.
· Tour of Chinook and Blackhawk helicopters with mission brief
· Hands-on demonstration with the explosive ordnance robot
· Camouflage face painting
· Self-aid and buddy care training, a military first aid
· Military working dog demonstration
· Eat a real MRE...and much more
The last day to sign up is 25 Sept. To register or for more information, call Youth Programs at 720-847-9992 or Operation Military Kids at 970-491-1807. Don't miss out on this great event.
