In memory of the Americans who died as a result of their service in Korea, and to give thanks to our distinguished Korean War veterans, the President of the United States has declared July 27, 2009, as National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day.

Flags will be flown at half staff on all Department of Defense buildings, grounds and naval vessels throughout the United States and abroad. Flags will return to the peak of the staff the morning of July 28.
