A Non-Commissioned Officer from the 460th Security Forces Squadron recently won the Air Force Space Command Security Forces Individual Award for Outstanding Security Forces Support Staff NCO.

Tech. Sgt. Trevor Dunn beat out other members of AFSPC to bring home the award, which recognizes leadership in a security forces support staff role.

"I'm proud to have been able to represent the 460th Space Wing, 460th Mission Support Group and the 460th Security Forces Squadron in winning such a high-level, distinguished award," the 460th SFS resources branch chief and unit resource advisor said.

The Chickasha, Okla., native oversees $1.7 million in air base defense and law enforcement equipment, oversees combat arms training for base personnel, and executes all budgeting activities to acquire unit resources including vehicles, weapons and deployment assets.

Senior Master Sgt. Ami Masaniai, 460th SFS manager, said Sergeant Dunn was submitted for the award because of his outstanding leadership and stellar performance.

"There is not one thing that stands out in my mind as to what led to his winning," Sergeant Masaniai added. "He is very capable of leading in any capacity and adapting to any leadership position."

Sergeant Dunn has also received the Bronze Star Medal and was the 2008 460th Space Wing Lance P. Sijan award winner, which recognizes leadership.
