How long have you been in the Air Force and in the space career field? Also, how long have you been with the 460th Space Wing?A: I joined the Air Force March 29, 1994, and directly after basic training I was selected to become a space systems operator. I was forced to cross train out of the space career field in November 2004 but was regained as a space systems operator in 2006. I was assigned to the 460th Space Wing in July 06 for my current assignment.Q. Why did you join the Air Force?A: I joined the Air Force for many reasons, but mainly to serve my country, learn a trade and see the world.Q. What material do you teach for the SBIRS course?A: I teach mission crew chiefs and commanders how to process mission data and best fight our weapons system.Q. How do you feel about being a SBIRS instructor?A: I thoroughly enjoy being a SBIRS instructor, mainly because it is cutting edge technology and the newest and greatest system in AFSPC.Q. What's your favorite part of your job?A: My favorite part of my job is being the first to teach the system to others. The people we are teaching today will be the experts of tomorrow, and knowing that I had a part it that process is very rewarding.Q. What are some of your off-duty hobbies or activities?A: I enjoy a lot of outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, hiking, and biking. However, my favorite activity is spending time with my three beautiful, young daughters.Q. What's the most valuable thought or insight you want to pass on to your students? A: I would ask them to be patient with the weapons system and the ever-changing process that accompanies new systems.
