At Buckley Space Force Base, where stories abound, one tale truly stands out: that of Chief Master Sgt. Sean Lynn, superintendent of operations and training for the 460th Security Forces Squadron, and Senior Master Sgt. Alana Lynn, the 460th SFS senior enlisted leader. Their inspiring journey is a testament to resilience, dedication, and ambition.
In 2011, Sean, then a MSgt, and Alana, a TSgt, first crossed paths at Joint Base Lackland in San Antonio, Texas. Recalling their initial encounter, Alana found Sean stern.
"I thought he was not nice," she chuckles. Yet, this encounter marked the beginning of a remarkable partnership.
"We met at tech school," Sean recalls, highlighting their connection as instructors. Their bond deepened during a CPR certification session, sparked by Sean's simple gesture of offering his lunch. "She didn’t bring lunch and I offered her one of my un-crustables. That’s where it started," he reflects.
When discussing their journey, Sean acknowledges the adversities they've faced. "We've encountered our fair share of challenges due to the demands of the Air Force" he admits.
However, being aligned in their family values, work ethic, and dedication to the Air Force allowed them to carve their own individual paths while achieving the top 1% together.
"If you focus on the hurt, you will continue to suffer. If you focus on the lesson, you will continue to grow," Alana emphasizes. Their dedication to growing through life's lessons and focusing on growth rather than setbacks has been a guiding principle in their journey.
Their journey, marked by unwavering commitment and relentless pursuit of excellence, has propelled them to the pinnacle of their careers. Sean's appointment as 460th SFS superintendent of operations and training, coupled with Alana's role as 460th SFS senior enlisted leader, attests to their exceptional performance and leadership within the Air Force.
As Sean pinned on the rank of chief master sergeant in January, Alana is set to follow suit in the fall, marking yet another milestone in their remarkable journey. From their humble beginnings as NCOs to their current status among the top 1%, Sean and Alana epitomize dedication, resilience, and shared ambition. Their story serves as a beacon of inspiration, showcasing the enduring power of love and partnership in the face of adversity.
