Military Saves Week

Buckley Air Force Base Airman & Family Readiness Center invites the Panthers to join in Military Saves Week from Feb. 22-26.

An annual opportunity for Service members, Military Saves Week helps military members and their families learn about smart financing.

Col. Scott Romberger, 460th Space Wing vice commander, kicked off the week by signing a proclamation. The week-long event persuades, encourages and motivates Service members and their families to take financial action to build wealth, not debt.

The scheduled events include:

Financial Literacy and Outsmarting Investment Fraud, presented by FINRA Foundation and AARP, Monday, Feb. 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Know the risk factors for investment fraud, the most common persuasion tactics and the most powerful prevention strategies.

Being a Savvy Consumer, presented by FINRA Foundation and Colorado Division of Securities, Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; increase your understanding of the marketplace and learn how to discern between a bargain and a rip-off. Discover resources that will provide a larger body of information before making important decisions with your money.

Estate Planning, presented by the Colorado Attorney General's Office, Wednesday, Feb. 24 from noon to 1 p.m.; learn basic information on the process of anticipating and arranging for the disposal of estate, eliminate uncertainties and maximize the value of financial planning.

Home and Car Buying, presented by the Colorado Attorney General's Office of Consumer Credit, Thursday,  Feb. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; acquire in-depth knowledge of the process involved in making large financial decisions. Learn tips on how to make the best decision and save money.

Health Insurance and Claims Fraud, presented by Colorado Division of Insurance and Colorado Attorney General's Office of Financial Fraud Investigations, Friday, Feb. 26, from 11 .am. to noon.

ID Theft, Mail, and Wire Fraud Scams, presented by the IRS Criminal Investigation Division and the Postal Inspection Service, Friday, Feb. 26 from noon to 1 p.m.
