Staff Sgt. William Buchanan joined the Air Force at the age of 27 and has been both a member of the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and a space operator. He is a single father of a 4-year-boy named Zander and is currently serving as the executive assistant to the 460th Space Wing command chief.

During this week he and his teammates have excelled in one of the busiest weeks the wing has had, while achieving two first-ever milestones for the base. He worked tirelessly and many long hours to create and execute all of the administrative and recorder duties for the 460th SW's first-ever Tech. Sgt. Enlisted Force Distribution panel. Because of his efforts, the panel was conducted professionally and efficiently.

In addition, he worked closely with the 460th Space Wing protocol office to put on an extremely successful vist for the 14th Air Force commander and command chief.  He handled several venues, deconflicted transportation, lodging, communications needs, administrative support, and was the "glue" that held all of the collective tasks together.  Because of his skill and forward thinking, the visit was very successful and the 14th Air Force commander and command chief left with a positive impression of Team Buckley during their first visit.  Although there were many personnel involved, Sergeant Buchanan stands out as a major force in the 460th SW's success this week.  We are very proud of him.
