The Women Veterans of Colorado will host the 4th Annual Women Veterans of Colorado Conference Sept. 13 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Denver to honor the service of more than 38,000 Colorado women veterans. Registration

The event will include lunch and numerous resource providers with a theme of "Pathways to Self Sufficiency: Fueling the Entrepreneurial Spirit."
Informational sessions at the conference include subjects centered on self-sufficiency, wellness and employment, and tips for translating military skills into civilian career skills.
The keynote speaker for the conference will be Dana Niemela, Denver's Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program manager. Dana is a U.S. Navy veteran, where she served from 1997-2005, earning her commission from the Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps program at George Washington University with a Bachelor of the Arts in History. Dana is a nationally recognized expert in veteran services and was recognized at the White House in 2014 as a "Woman Veteran Champion of Change" for her contributions in making veteran services more accessible and focusing on self-sufficiency and service.
Human Resource personnel from Booz Allen Hamilton will be there to provide one-on-one help with resume writing, interview skills and job search engines. Session presenters are women veterans or women who represent organizations supporting women having served in the military.
