AURORA, Colo. -- Col. Dan Wright, 460th Space Wing commander, presented his annual State of the Base address Jan. 22 at the Paul Beck Recreation Center to inform community leaders and Aurora Rotary and Aurora Chamber of Commerce members about the base's activities and economic impact to the local area.

Buckley's economic impact for fiscal 2013 is more than $890 million, much of which was spent in the local area, Wright stated.

During his address, he covered three major areas of the base's state: Buckley's missions, Buckley's people and the Buckley community.

"One thing that hasn't changed in the last year is how your base contributes to the nation's defense 24/7. I am proud to report that the heart of Team Buckley, the people, remain strong, cohesive and focused on service to the community, Colorado and our nation," Wright said.
