In an effort to encourage smoking cessation, the 460th Medical Group will be promoting the Great American Smokeout Nov. 21 on base.

On the third Thursday of November each year, the American Cancer Society sponsors the Great American Smokeout designed to encourage smokers to make a plan to quit or to create plans in advance and quit smoking that day according to the American Cancer Society website.

The 2013 theme is "Help Finish the Fight Against Cancer."

Buckley Health and Wellness Center and 460th MDG staff will be encouraging awareness at the base's entry points for the Great American Smokeout.

For more information on the Great American Smokeout, visit the American Cancer Society website. For smoking cessation resources, call the HAWK at 720-847-6864.
