Arbor Day
Children from the Crested Butte Child Development Center participate in a ceremonially planting of a tree to symbolize Buckley Air Force Base achieving Tree City USA status April 23 at Buckley AFB, Colo. Buckley received the Tree City USA award for meeting four core standards of sound urban forestry management: maintaining a tree board or department, having a community tree ordinance, spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry and celebrating Arbor Day. “It is our opportunity to show the community that we care for their community, as our operations affect their environment,” said Celiann Gonzalez Jurabe, 460th Civil Engineer Squadron environmental element chief.
