  • Medal of Honor recipient dedicates Gold Star Monument

    The Colorado Freedom Memorial Foundation unveiled the new Gold Star Families Memorial Monument Oct. 14, 2020, at the Colorado Freedom Memorial in Aurora, Colo. The Woody Williams Foundation, founded by World War II Medal of Honor recipient Hershel "Woody" Williams, dedicated this monument to the Coloradan families who have had loved ones either killed or missing in action.
  • United States Space Force establishes Space Delta 4

    Col. Richard “Bear” Bourquin assumes command of the newly-formed Space Delta 4, during a virtual ceremony hosted by Gen. Jay Raymond, Chief of Space Operations, July 24, continuing the alignment of units within the U.S. Space Force. DEL 4 will operate and support both space and ground-based sensors to provide strategic and theater missile warning to the U.S. and international partners.
  • Buckley is now home to USSF’s Buckley Garrison

    Colonel Devin Pepper inactivated the 460th Space Wing and activated Buckley Garrison, continuing the alignment of units within the USSF. “We are at a very historic moment in our nation’s history with the establishment of the Space Force,” said Col. Devin Pepper. “I am honored to command the men and women of the Buckley Garrison at this singular moment in time, as we shape the operational construct of our command and provide combat capability to United States Space Command and other Combatant Commands around the globe. I am humbled to be a part of the legacy forged by space pioneers such as General Bernard Schriever and Lieutenant General Thomas Moorman.”
