Holiday cheer is easy to locate in Skyline Park as the entire area is filled with holiday lights, vendors and an ice skating rink for the 12th annual Denver Christkindl Market scheduled to run through Dec. 22.

"The Denver Christkindl Market is a great event for kids of all ages from toddlers to 100 years old. The German American Chamber of Commerce - Colorado Chapter is proud to again host this great event and to help keep the rich German traditions alive in Denver," according to Jesse Young, German American COC president.

Vendors from all over the world, as well as the local area, fill wooden booths creating and selling their wares. A large tent houses tables and benches for people partaking in the traditional food and drink, or for those looking for a warm place to sit and listen to carols.

As the sun sets, the holiday lights become increasingly visible and give the area a real sense of holiday cheer. The German accents of vendors and locals add to the traditional festivity, just as one might find if they traveled to Germany for a Christmas market.

Across the street from the vendors sits an ice skating rink for people to test their heels on the ice. While it's free to enter the Christkindl Market, the cost to rent skates is $2.

Entertainment is planned throughout the duration of the market, officialy closing at 9 p.m. Dec. 22. For information on what groups or people are performing and when, visit http://www.denverchristkindlmarket.com/en/event-info/entertainment/.

The market is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. It is located on the corners of 16th and Arapahoe Streets. People using a GPS to find the market can input "1601 Arapahoe Street."
