Break a leg Airman

BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. --  Breaking a leg is the last thing anybody wants to do. There's no deploying, a cast is worn for months, and the doctor writes a waiver for physical training.

However, breaking a leg is exactly what Staff Sgt. Justin Floyd, 460th Security Forces Squadron, intends to do on Oct. 26 as he and his all-military affiliated cast are scheduled to perform at the Leadership Development Center 6 p.m.

Floyd is the director and producer for his comedy show Noises Off, and said his passion for comedy isn't just to make people laugh.

"I've been doing live-theater since I was seven, and comedy is one of those things that reaches out to all audiences," Floyd said.

Floyd said it's not about bringing an audience together but bringing his cast together as well.

"We've got everybody here from a major to an airman first class acting in this show. It's not limited to just one rank or one branch of service," he mentioned.

According to Floyd, his show is unlike other Air Force performance groups where performers take on a multitude of talents. Bringing acting to the military can provide an outlet for Airmen to showcase a certain talent and have fun doing it.

"This is our third show; this is starting to get big," Floyd said.

Capt. Sheila Allen, Force Support Squadron, attended Floyd's show, Rumors, last year. Allen said she was impressed with the performance.

"It was very professionally done. The acting was incredible and you can tell they put a lot of time into it," she said. "I'm going to this one."
