Panther of the Week: Joshua Kukus, 460th Security Forces Squadron

Name: Joshua Kukus, 460th Security Forces Squadron intrusion detection specialist

Length of Service: Six years U.S. Navy and five years Civil service

Hometown: Loveland, Colorado

Unique Fact: As a member of 7th fleet, Joshua aided in delivery of over $1 million pounds of humanitarian aid to Sumatra during the 2005 tsunami relief efforts

Hobbies: Snowboarding, fishing and hunting

Panther at a Glance: Joshua Kukus joined the Navy at the age of 21, where he served as an interior communications technician onboard the USS Essex in Sasebo, Japan, for three years. After that, he rotated back to the states and served another two years onboard the USS Nitze in Norfolk, Virginia. Joshua married his wife, Regina, also a U.S. Navy veteran, in 2008 and after her enlistment convinced her to move to Colorado and start a family. They have two little girls together and are expecting their third child in July. Joshua recently graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a bachelor's degree in construction management. He loves being a part of Team Buckley as an intrusion detection specialist where he installs and maintains intrusion detection, access control and video surveillance systems for the 460th SFS
